Lunch at Jyu Jyu, 339 Clayton Rd, Clayton

1) Jyu Jyu meal box (comprises gyoza, teriyaki chicken with Japanese

reasonable.

3) Sukiyaki don. 8/10.

sandwich with an egg on top. Love it! 8/10! :)

Lunch at Kotaraya, 2107 Princes Highway, Clayton

They only serve Hainanese chicken rice from Fridays to Sundays. We saw
most of the customers ordering chicken rice so, J ordered the roast
chicken and I ordered the salt and pepper spare ribs. Superb! Will
recommend! 8/10! :)

Lunch at Groove Train, Westfield - Geelong Shop MM1 Yarra Street, Geelong

It's probably not fair to rate what we ate at Groove Train as we just lost out beloved golden, and everything tasted awful in our mouths. But I will say the service was prompt and the food was quick. Nice ambience as well.

Chicken parmigiana.

Fried calamaris

Dinner at Stokehouse (Upstairs), 30 Jacka Blvd St Kilda VIC 3182

These pics were taken in April, but I've totally forgotten to post them. Can't remember the individual dishes but there's nothing not to like about Stokehouse! I had the veal which I thought was pretty good. Overall, 8.5/10!

2) KL-style Har Mee. Not too bad. Too much sauce? 7/10.

3) Char Kway Teow. Prob the more authentic dish of the lot. 8/10.

Laurent Bakery

Ultra sweet (but I guess all meringues are always too sweet). 7/10.

Dinner at Ocha, 3 Church St, Hawthorn

Soba. 6.5/10.

Gyoza. Not bad but too salty! 7/10.

Scallop with Japanese hollandaise sauce. Again, too salty. 7/10.

Spicy calamari salad. I don't know why it's called 'spicy' as we couldn't taste any spice at all. 6.5/10.

Grilled eggplant with miso. Nice but super salty! 6.5/10.

Mirin chicken with salad. This was probably the worst dish. 5/10.

Overall, this place was really overrated. Good food guide gave it 15/20! I reckon it should be 12/20.

Cakes at Gânache, 250 Toorak Rd, South Yarra

Both the pear caramel and choc mousse cakes were absolutely fantastic.
Probably one of the best cakes I've eaten.

9.5/10! :)

Service was top-notch! Highly recommend this place. Will revisit!
