We ordered also the 'status quo' (chicken schnitzel with cheese,
tomatoes and coleslaw).

The chips were nice too but a little salty. 7/10.

Total price: $23 (with a drink)

Lunch at Hog's Breath, Tenancy 203, Watergardens Shopping Centre 399 Melton Hwy Taylors Lakes VIC 3037

The drink Fruitastic was not fantastic. The fruit wasn't that fresh
so, it had a weird taste to it. 5/10.
The curly fries were good enough. 7/10.
The steak was so soft and juicy! One of the best steaks we've had in a
long time! 9.5/10.
The prawn twisters were good too. Not spectacular but tasty. 7.5/10.
Will definitely come back again!

Garlic Mushroom Prime Rib –
Lite Cut $24.95
Seared Prime Rib topped with fresh mushrooms sizzled in garlic butter. 8/10

Went back again for the steak this time! Was very good but the waitress (for some reason) couldn't wait to clear our table and rush us our bill (even though the restaurant was almost empty)! Not happy!

Honeydew Sago by Joe.

Made with homemade organic soya bean milk instead of coconut milk. A
tad bland but very healthy tasting. A good first attempt! :)

Tom Yum Mee Sua by Joe.

Love it. 8/10. :)

Saturday, February 12, 2011

Lunch at Chili Mamak Kopitiam, 295 Racecource Rd Kensington

The teh-c peng (ice tea) was too sweet. Had to add a lot of water to
make it "drinkable".

The prawn noodles were average. Joe thinks his own homemade one is
nicer. I didn't like the frozen prawns they used. 6.5/10.

The mamak mee goreng was also mediocre. Nothing specia. 6.5/10.

Dinner at Broadmeadows Shopping Centre Food Court

The sushi and miso soup were acceptable, but the fried chicken ramen
was a disaster. The chicken were so salty, and the soup reeked of MSG.

Will not reorder the ramen.

Homemade Hawaiian Pizza by Joe.

A very good first attempt. Not exactly the way I would've liked it but
tasted really healthy! 7/10!

Sunday, February 6, 2011

Lunch at Ying Thai, 110 Lygon St Carlton

Best green Thai chicken curry (2nd pic) I've had in a while. No
"chicken smell" and the meat was so soft. 9/10. :)
The other dish (1st pic) was tender beef filet with homemade sauce and
rice. Joe thinks it's about 7.5/10. Not bad but not great either.

*Update: unfortunately, the Thai green curry dish gave me severe food poisoning. :(

Lunch at Don Tojo, 164 Cardigan St Carlton

Sashi Don, $8.90, Cheap and nice! Sashimi was very fresh (although the
veg were slightly too bitter for my taste). 8/10. :)

Joe's hearty homemade breakfast!

Mushroom omelette on a bed of virginian ham and multigrain toast topped with fresh basil.

Thursday, February 3, 2011

Joe's organic homemade pizza inspired by Jamie Oliver's 30min meals' recipes.

Very healthy tasting albeit a tad bland. He forgot to add salt but I
liked it nonetheless. Overall, a great attempt. 7.5/10.
